Central Focus

Self-actualisation is seeking personal growth through peak experiences in order to realise your fullest potential and reach self-fulfillment. It is often thought of or viewed as a destination or a process, but it really is a state of being. It is when you can say “I am being all that I am and all that I am meant to be.”

We encourage people to seek and discover their destiny by seeking to discover themselves. Self actualisation is what we hope you alternate reach. However it is important to note that this is a continued process of becoming rather than a final state of being that a person reaches and stays at.

Self-actualisation was coined by Dr Abraham Maslow. He believed human motivation is based on people seeking fulfillment and change through personal growth. Self-actualized people are those who are self-fulfilled and doing and becoming all they are capable of becoming in their potential realised.

Dr Maslow describe self actualisation for the need for personal growth is present throughout a person’s, a person is always ‘becoming’ and never remains static. Self-actualisation is an ongoing process in which a person’s capabilities are fully creatively and happily utilised. Through personal growth a person can accomplish goals, building upon confidence, competence and abilities. Eventually a person comes to find a meaning in life that is important to them.

Dr Maslow believes that are two processes necessary for self-actualisation these are:

  • self-exploration

  • action

The deeper the self-exploration, the closer one comes to self actualisation. The way to self actualisation starts with self-discovery and then goes through self development (personal growth) into self-mastery before reaching self-actualisation.

Self Actualization Cycle

Self-discovery is the exploration process, where while self development and self-mastery are action segments. The journey and destination as indicated self-actualisation can be thought of as both an end and a process. If you grow and develop in your daily life, you become self actualised. Hence, it can be said that you reach your destination. But it can also be perceived as a process because you do not arrive at a point in your life when you can say “I am self-actualized I don’t need any more personal growth”.

However, you continued, You can see your new personal growth and development even after you reached your self actualisation basically, personal growth is a means to become self actualised but it’s not the end to the means because you are in the flow of experiences.

In regards to self-actualisation it's important to know yourself, so you can look back in hindsight and pick out the aspects of yourself that you can clearly see about yourself. For me, I reflected and this is when I KNOW I'm the best version of myself:

1. When I put in the effort with my appearance

2. Posting a good selfie

3. When I use my god given gifts

4. Being bold

5. Doing my own thing with passion

6. At ease in the company of others who inspire me
